Over the mountains and on the other side of the High Atlas, and after crossing the pass of Tizi-n-tichka at 2,260m to reach them, you can discover the beauty of the many valleys and landscapes in the environs of Ouarzazate. These includes theValley of the Roses, the Valley and Gorge of  Dades, the Todra Gorge (beside Tinerhir), the plateau of Tafilalt, the vast sand dunes at Merzoga (Erg Chebbi) and the Valley of the Draa.

The sand dunes of Erg Chebbi are particularly impressive. This erg desert (sandy) has many very large examples of shifting dunes, the colours of which change as the sun rises and the sun sets each day. To take a camel ride into Erg Chebbi as the sun sets is a very special experience and one that provides long lasting, warm memories.
