OPTION: Visit a Berber Souk

What is a Berber souk? A berber souk is a market (usually held weekly) at which the local rural inhabitants gather to buy and barter goods/livestock whilst enjoying the social interaction that the souk enables. Somme sample souk days are:

Thursday: Wergane Souk
Saturday: Ben hassoun souk
Sunday: Takerkost souk

We can take you to a Berber souk, lead you around the activities and explain all that is going on. This could take a half day with time in the souk followed by, if wished, either having lunch at the souk or lunch with a Berber family.

Additionally, you can add a half day of gentle walking around the Berber villages and the lower valleys of the High Atlas.

OPTION: A one day hike:

A day-long excursion provides the opportunity to see a few different Berber villages and many panoramic views as you make your way to the home of a Berber family for lunch. The easy scenic walking will give you a better understanding of the geography in which the Berbers of the High Atlas mountains live and the ingenious ways by which they survive. After this day, immersed in the beauty of the foothills of the High Atlas and experiencing the hospitality of some of Morocco's indigenous people, you will feel revitalised and refreshed.

Such a day includes the services of a local guide, all transport to from your hotel (if wished) and lunch.

Our destinations:
